Women in Sailing

I was honored that Charlotte Rose, Daniela Moroz, and Fatih Özmen allowed me to interview them as part of a school project – highlighting women in sailing. At a younger age there are about the same number of girls sailing as boys, but later on this number drops significantly. What does it take to sail at very high competitive levels, and how do the top performing women pull this off? What drives them? I found out that top level sailing is a lifestyle; it requires 100% commitment. Sailing is hard, dealing with a lot of circumstances out of your control. There can be currents, wind shifts, competitors, mental challenges, gear failure, you name it it can happen. Even with the most perfect preparations there is not a certainty of success. However, there is also a lot of fun involved, going to exotic places, friends for life and the reward of winning. Sailing does prepare you to face anything and still succeed. If you want to know how Charlotte and Daniela managed to get the best of the world in their class, please send me an email for a link to the video, or even better go to the websites of Daniela (https://www.danielamoroz.com/) and Charlotte (https://www.charlotterosesailing24.com/)
