PALS

PALS (Peer Assisted Leadership) is one of the most rewarding activities I do. It is a highly selective elective class for Juniors and Seniors at Clements High School. Every week we visit multiple Elementary schools to help kids who need just a little extra help. This might be with their homework, social skills, but most importantly being a friend who listens to them. I am very proud of all the kids I get the chance to help with this program. They are all different and each have their unique challenges but every week I see them grow and get to put a smile on their face. In PALS we also have a monthly occurrence where we get to teach a class in Elementary school through Junior Achievement. Depending on the grade, we teach the kids about the community and important aspects that make up a community. We also give the teachers a well-deserved break 😉 and get to experience the career of a teacher. I have loved working with every class this year and have learned so much from every student. I’m very excited to experience the joys and confidence that PALS brings me and will help me pass along to other students again next year!
