Car repairs

Ok I will be honest. I did not expect this to be part of my driver’s license experience. But what can I say – having an engineer as dad – I should have expected this to happen. It started as a simple, let’s change the break pads, but when we inspected the brake disks it was even clear to my untrained eye those needed to replaced as well. My dad being my dad suggested that “while we are at it anyway”….. let’s change the engine air filter and cabin air filter. Sounds familiar? Engineers are sooo predictable. Most importantly, work safe and never ever go under a car that is not properly supported. We started with a hunt for the right tools and parts. Luckily auto repair stores makes this easy, just tell them which car and model you have and they will do the rest. Super simple. As always YouTube is your best friend figuring out how to get things done – please watch the whole videos first – there some details you must get right. (Everything you take off the car, must all go back onto the car…) Four hours later we had it all done and saved some money as well! If you are not completely comfortable doing this please go to a licensed car repair shop, but if you are, this is an easy way to lower the cost of driving a car and have some fun with your engineer dad.
